John Parsons, CFM is the Director of Workplace Experience at 23andMe and a long-time member of IFMA and contributor to our FM community. Mike Petrusky asks John about his perspective on the workplace revolution and how facility leaders can create experiences that enable employees to do their best work by delivering concierge-like services that encourage innovation. John shares how he works to facilitate and communicate the mission at his company with a belief that mentoring and training using face-to-face interaction is essential. Understanding our human “DNA” and that people need a sense of place at this stage of the company’s growth, John talks of the value of being together in a new corporate headquarters is essential to their success. He is passionate about helping the next generation of emerging professionals and he offers his FM story as inspiration for taking advantage of opportunities as they arise and how unplanned events and changes can offer the key to develop and advance your career.
