Melissa Marsh is Founder and Executive Director of PLASTARC and Director of Occupant Experience at Savills Studley where she uses social research and people analytics to help clients with their workplace design strategies and real estate decisions. Mike Petrusky asks Melissa about creative problem solving that is possible because of the big data of social analytics and the ability to measure delight with both new technical capabilities and through cognitive research that reveals how our brains are impacted by space. Mike asks Melissa about what we can learn about architecture and workplace from “The Lego Movie” and they discuss employee experience and the consumerization of the workplace that is driving a democratization of decision-making in the built environment. It is an amazing time to be in the world of corporate real estate and Melissa shares her expertise around the models and metrics that put us on the doorstep of the “science of delight”.
